My Approach to therapy
Both life and therapy unfold in dynamic seasons that invite us to move in kind. Our sessions will reflect this in how often we meet [or pause] based on what is most accessible, sustainable and effective for the season we're navigating. We'll collaborate to ensure changes made can be maintained outside of our time together through collective care strategies accessible to you. Whether we talk or work through other mediums, we'll choose a pace and practices best suited to your needs. This might include encouraging processing through guided imagery, writing, art, community engagement, movement, brief role-play or other experiential exercises such as working with sand, clay, cards or other props.

I practice culturally validated and evidence-based care strategies, including well researched process-based approaches. My overall approach is rooted in values of responsivity, connection and liberation. Pulling from my ancestral linage of African-American community care workers and an educational background in developmental psychology and biology, I provide care grounded in honoring the full complexity of who we are and the world[s] we live in. My care-work is also informed by Black feminist theory and Healing Justice frameworks. This means looking honestly at our experiences and acknowledging the interplay of physical, personal, social and systemic contexts over time.
